EMOTIONALLY FOCUSED couple THERAPY EXTERNSHIP

EMOTIONALLY FOCUSED THERAPY
4–DAY EXTERNSHIP

TRAINERS: DRS. PAUL GUILLORY & ROBERT ALLAN

Transform the Way You Work With
Couples/Relationships

Conceptualize distress and relationship repair based on theories of attachment and emotion.

Practice EFT interventions to overcome therapeutic impasses with relationships.

This is an official Externship® endorsed by the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT)

About the Training:

A 4-day externship includes presentations of theory, clinical techniques and skills, training exercises, video recordings, observation of live sessions, and discussion of specific cases and clinical issues. Along with didactic presentation, this training will incorporate participant role plays in small group settings to practice this experiential model. The externship is a pre-requisite for Master classes and advanced Core Skills training in EFT. The two trainers bring a wealth of experience and a particular interest in working with multicultural realities and the impact of marginalization and understanding how it activates our attachment systems and the role of emotional coherence in co/regulating and maintaining health, well-being, and possibly thriving. Both trainers have lived, clinical, research, and publishing experience in these areas and are excited to weave it throughout the training while demonstrating the work via their own clinical work with African-American and LGBTQ+ couples/relationships.

Learning objectives:

  • Participants will obtain a clear understanding of the basic experiential and systemic concepts of an “Emotionally Focused” approach to therapy.
